Why fabric pots:

Fabric pots ensures that your root zone receives sufficient oxygen so that your aerobic microbial life can thrive and leads to a healthier rhizosphere.

Oxygen in the root zone is essential for a plants metabolic process of taking up nutrients and minerals and to diffuse carbon
dioxide caused by the respiration of root cells away from the roots.

Fabric pots allows for greater root mass to form by promoting “air pruning” on the roots that reach the side of the pot walls.

This action allows for lateral fibrous roots to form which leads to a much denser and fuller root zone, preventing it’s roots from circling which is the process of a plant becoming root bound.

Fabric pots allows for excellent drainage to prevent the formation of anaerobic zones which could lead to various soil borne diseases and ultimately devastating root rot. Fabric pot’s excellent drainage capabilities makes them ideal for heavy feeding schedules.

Fabric pots keeps your soil cool in hot weather or when exposed to direct sunlight by allowing airflow to penetrate the side walls of the pot and pass over the moist soil. The root zone is cooled down by the process of evaporative cooling.

This makes fabric pots ideal for outdoor growers in warmer climates.

Fabric pots have proven to substantially increase overall yields due to its air pruning ability combined with its excellent aeration and drainage properties.

The increase in yield is obtained by having more roots in contact with the soil or growing medium leading to more efficient nutrient, mineral and water uptake.

Fabric pots are re-usable and machine washable! Making it easy and affordable to disinfect between grow cycles.

Our Material

MaxGro pots are made from high quality A5 grade Geotextile material with excellent water permeability properties and the added UV Stabilizer ensures durability against the tough South African sun making it great for outdoor growers. The more durable A5 grade material ensures durability in tough environments and makes them more resistant to cuts and tears compared to the other A3 & A4 grade pots.

All our pots are stitched with 100% polyester thread.

Our Technique

Care is taken when assembling a MaxGro pot. We use certain techniques that improves the life span, make them more durable and functional in the grow area.

Our handles are stitched along the entire height of the pot covering a bigger stitching surface area which makes them less prone to tearing when handling a full pot.

Our bottom seams are outside which aids in rot prevention and a more firm stance. MaxGro pots are handmade by a small team to ensure quality workmanship.

Our R&D

MaxGro pots had evolved extensively before being released thanks to our R&D farm and other test growers alike. Our pots were tested in various climatic environments with various types of crops for us to undergo thorough research to develop a product that is not only functional but also durable and practical.
